Profile Hello, my name is Tony Cunningham. I am a certified public accountant specializing in tax and accounting solutions for successful professionals and growing businesses. I founded my firm over 10 years ago after spending 10 years with a large national firm. For over twenty years, I have helped my clients save time and money by focusing on tax and accounting solutions that work for them. My clients also benefit from working with me since they are able to worry less about their taxes and focus more on the things they enjoy – building their careers and businesses or spending more time with their loved ones. How do I help them worry less and focus more on the things they love? I roll up my sleeves and get involved in the details of their tax and financial lives. Recently a new client came to my office to discuss a problem he was having with the IRS and the taxes for his small business. He had fallen behind in tax filings over the last 7 years. His records were in disarray. His prior accountant had passed away and tax matters had been put aside. The IRS was threatening to place liens on his bank accounts and other property. He was stressed and desperate to set things right but did not know how. He was prepared to write checks for over $100,000 just on the fear that he may owe. After our initial meeting, I immediately set into place a plan to catch him up, to calculate the correct tax and to remove the threat of any liens. I established a positive working relationship with the IRS agent assigned to his case. I submitted a power of attorney that freed my client from the direct contact with the IRS. My office team worked with the client and his assistant to put his books and records in order. We immediately updated the financial statements so that we could file complete and accurate returns for the client – with the final tax liability significantly less than the client’s initial fears – less than $20,000 rather than the $100,000 he anticipated. Today that client is fully caught up, no IRS liens attached to his business and he again is focusing on the fun aspects of his business – working with his customers and helping them with their problems and building a stronger financial future for himself and his family. I love the opportunity to help clients set things straight. When our financial life is in balance, the rest of our life finds balance too.
